Remarks

Quirky bespoke 60’s property where we have worked before on other roofing projects which required a new main house roof and Customer wanted a new copper roof. We had to source the copper as a special order from Italy because the copper required is not manufactured in the UK.

We stripped off the existing roof covering and in the 60’s, chipboard was used as the main roof deck so this was removed and the insulation upgraded because polystyrene insulation was present. We then had to re-deck the roof, install new PUR high density insulation, supply and fit a high quality dispersion layer together with the copper metal finish. The copper is currently quite bright but will weather and oxidise over time and will have a greenish tinge finish.

The Customer was very happy with the finish and so was the Peacock that we fed almost daily!
