In this project we installed a new GRP roof to the Methodist Church in Cheam, Surrey.

Project Scope

  • Stripped existing roof surface.

  • Fitted new decking over existing parapet.
  • Installed 25-year 600g fleece.
  • Installed Scott Bader Premier Range Resin and Top Coat.
  • Final inspection and site cleanse.

Remarks

This is a client we have worked previously. About 10-years ago we patched up their old flat-felt roof.

Unfortunately, due to the very hot weather we had this summer the old asphalt split, and this then led to water leaking all around the parapet walls.

When we arrived on site to carry out this work it was not possible to remove the existing coping stones.

If we had, we would have needed to rebuild the inside brickwork as it had crumbled in many area’s due to water penetration.

We consulted with the client and jointly agreed to encapsulate the parapet brickwork.

Notice how the Scott Bader GRP waterproofing has been laid over the parapets as waterproofing.

The client was very pleased with the final look and is thinking about getting the other side of the building done to match.
